Note In case of accident please return to Miss M. J. Lockier Kangarilla, South Australia.--Title page. These documents have been prepared by Donald V Goldney, November 2018. Includes bibliographical references. The diaries of Victor Goldney were only discovered after his death in January 1972. It would appear that he was the only person who was aware of their existence. The diaries were found in a small top drawer of his desk where they must have been held for many years as the desk was the gift from Hallett Methodist Circuit in 1924. It is unusual that the location of the diaries escaped the inquisitive nature of his children. This was fortuitous for many of the family history treasures such as letters relat ing to WW1 were lost through dampness getting into the box of records during Dad's ministry at Mount Barker from 1954-1960. What a lot of information could have been linked with these war diaries if these records had existed today. Copies of some of his sermons have only been recently found. Because of the difficulty in transcribing the small and difficult handwriting there has not been time to have any relevant details included in this edition as the goal is to deliver the original diaries and other de tails to the Australian War Memorial in November 2018.
