Abstract

In this article the author describes the history of Radio VLC which started broadcasting in 1944 as an English-speaking propaganda radio station. VLC broadcast in the area of the South-East Asia which was under Japanese occupation. Radio VLC was the basis for Radio Australia which continued broadcasting into the 21st Century.
