Description
A wise soldier sleeps while he can, especially if he is on a three day exercise involving night-time patrols and dawn attacks. Private (Pte) Fred Moore of Little Bay, NSW, takes 40 winks behind the wheel of his jeep in Korea. Pte Moore is a member of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR). He has just taken part in a first light crossing of the flooded Imjin River after a stormy night in the open. He is 20. Pte Moore has been in the army for a year and has spent the past six months in Korea. Before he joined up he was a plumber, but is now a relief driver for A Company of 3RAR.
