Description

The strike by 125 Japanese dock workers in Kure, Japan, is holding up the loading of military stores on the British cargo vessel Benvorlich (9767 tons). Commonwealth servicemen have taken over the job. Operating a crane on the dock is Corporal (Cpl) M Vincent, of Christchurch, Hampshire, England, and of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). Cpl Vincent joined the British Army in 1953 and has been in Japan for eight months.
