Description
A photocopied 128 page typed account written by VX50707 Sergeant (Sgt) George Lloyd Thomas Senior describing his service with B Squadron, 9 Division Cavalry Regiment in the Middle East during the Second World War. The manuscript is divided into two sections - the first is titled "The Sea Voyage: September 18 - October 22"; the second is titled "On Land: Egypt and Palestine with the AATR". Senior describes in great detail conditions on the ship to the Middle-East and their training regimes, food and the other men with whom he was serving. The document was written for his sweetheart back in Australia, and there are also several references to his feelings for her throughout.
