Citations 2 For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the actions at TOBRUCH. At TOBRUCH on 21 Jan, 41, this Officer was in command of one of the two companies which made the entry into the enemy position. By his courage and leadership and outstanding disregard for personal safety, his company, although much depleted by casualties, was enabled to capture four strongly held enemy posts and provide a safe starting point for the whole battalion. Throughout the severe fighting of the rest of the day, the leadership and gallantry of this officer was outstanding and an inspiring example to his company.
