Corporal Albert Beckett Fordham
Description
Born in Waterloo, Sydney, Albert Beckham Fordham was 19 years old and working as an ironmonger when he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) on 18 November 1914. He embarked from Melbourne with the 13th Battalion aboard HMAT Ulysses on 22 December 1914. In November 1916 Fordham was appointed acting corporal while serving in the 13th Battalion Band. He returned to Australia in October 1918 as a result of the special leave granted to those who had been abroad with the AIF since 1914.
