Private Leslie James Sedgmen
Description
Born in the Sydney suburb of St Peters, Leslie James Sedgmen was 23 and working as a draper when he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 1 December 1915. He embarked from Sydney with reinforcements to the 13th Battalion aboard HMAT Star of Victoria on 31 March 1916. He served in France and was also a member of the 13th Battalion Band. Sedgmen returned to Australia in May 1919 and married Freda Riddell in 1922. He died on 11 December 1955 and was buried at Woronora Cemetery in Sutherland.
