L/Cpl Robert Cooper James Murray
Description
Private Robert Cooper James Murray (5747, 1st Battalion) was an accountant’s clerk from Parramatta, NSW. He died of wounds at Ypres, Belgium on 4 October 1916. He is buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium. His mother wrote that he was 16 and a half years at the time of his death. Robert’s uncle Hugh Creagh Massy Carter was also with the 1st Battalion when he was killed in action at Gallipoli.
