Private William Thomas Nuth
Description
Private William Thomas Nuth (3349A, 46th Battalion) was born in Sydney, NSW, but was working in Melbourne, Victoria, as a tinsmith when he enlisted in September 1917. William was in the advance at Hamel on 8 August 1918 when a high explosive shell burst nearby killing him instantly. He was originally buried where he fell, but was later reinterred in the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France. William’s mother wrote that he was 17 years of age.
