Private Victor Marwood Stringfellow
Description
Private Victor Marwood Stringfellow (6855, 13th Battalion) was born in 1901 in Petersham, NSW. He was working as a post office assistant when he enlisted in September 1916. Victor was killed in action near Polygon Wood on 27 September 1917. He was 17 years of age. Victor has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium. Victor’s father, Private Charles William Stringfellow (1093), served with the 3rd Battalion and was killed in action in April 1917.
