Private Arthur Otto Tiedeman
Description
Private Arthur Otto Tiedeman (3693, 60th Battalion) was born in West Maitland, NSW, in 1898. He was working as a labourer when he enlisted in October 1915. Arthur was listed as missing in action after the battle of Fromelles. A court of enquiry later declared that he had been killed in action on 19 July 1916. Arthur is commemorated at the VC Corner Australian Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles, France. Arthur’s sister later wrote that he was 17 years of age.
