Private Noel Norbert Obre Myers
Description
Private Noel Norbert Obre Myers (4782, 28th Battalion) was born on 5 October 1899 at East Guildford, Western Australia. He was still at school when he enlisted in February 1916. Noel was reported missing after the battle of Flers, only two days after joining the battalion. He was later reported killed in action on 5 November 1916. He was 17 years 1 month of age. Noel is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. One brother, Corporal Lancelot Obre Myers, was wounded at Gallipoli and Fleurbaix. Another brother, Sergeant Oswald Louis Myers, served with the 10th Australian Light Horse Regiment.
