Private John Thomas Tennyson Johnson (1752, 48th Battalion) was born in Glanville, SA, in April 1899. He was working as a labourer when he enlisted in September 1915. John was initially reported wounded during the battle of Pozieres, but was later found to have been killed in action on 6 August 1916. John is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France. He was 17 years 4 months of age.
