Private Horace George Poole
Description
Private Horace George Poole (3977, 16th Battalion) was born in Fremantle, WA, on 8 May 1899. He was working as a labourer when he enlisted in September 1915. Horace was killed in action during the first battle of Bullecourt on 11 April 1917 at the age of 17 years 11 months. He is buried in the Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy, France. Horace's brother John Mervyn Poole served with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion.
