Private Evan McLeod
Description
Private Evan McLeod (2680, 51st Battalion) was born in Wester Moffat, Airdrie, Scotland. He came to Australia at the age of 15, and was working as a seaman when he enlisted at Fremantle, WA, in June 1916. Evan was killed in action during an attack on Noreuil, France, on 2 April 1917. He is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France. Evan was aged 17 years 10 months.
