Private Percy Arthur John White
Description
Private Percy Arthur John White (5951, 19th Battalion) was a labourer from Paddington, NSW. He enlisted in June 1916. Percy was accidentally killed on 28 June 1917 when a grenade exploded in his hand. He was buried nearby in the Martinpuich British Cemetery, France. His mother wrote that he was 17 years 10 months. Percy’s uncle, Private John Allan White, died of wounds received in action near Armentieres in December 1917.
