Private Henry Albert Withers
Description
Private Henry Albert Withers (476, 23rd Battalion) was a train examiner from Brunswick, Victoria. He enlisted in February 1915. Henry was bound for Gallipoli aboard the HMT Southland when it was hit by a German torpedo near Mudros on 2 September 1915. Henry was killed during the action and buried in the East Mudros Military Cemetery, Greece. His mother wrote that he was 17 years 10 months of age.
