Private Rupert James Crew
Description
Private Rupert James Crew (3523, 4th Battalion) was a surveyor’s assistant from Yass, NSW. He died in the Government Hospital in Suez from appendicitis on 24 November 1915 and is buried in the Suez War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt. Rupert's father wrote that was 17 years 11 months of age at the time of his death. Rupert’s brothers, Lance Corporal Valentine Frederick Thomas Crew and Private Alfred Bywong Crewe, also served in the AIF.
