Private Edward Owen Edwards
Description
Private Edward Owen Edwards (750, 36th Battalion) was born in Smithfield, NSW in 1900. He was working as a labourer when he enlisted in January 1916. Edward was killed in action near Armentieres on 20 December 1917. He is buried in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, France. Edward’s mother wrote that he was 17 years and 11 months of age at the time of his death. Edward’s brother, Lance Corporal Roy Henry Edwards, served with the 17th Battalion.
