Private George Charles Healy
Description
Private George Charles Healy (288, 38th Battalion) was born in 1899 in Bendigo, Victoria. He was working as a farm labourer before he enlisted in February 1916 at the age of 17. George was wounded at Bois Grenier, France on 22 February 1917 and died later that day. He is buried in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, France. George’s mother later wrote that he was very fond of hunting and all kinds of outdoor life. He was just 18 years at the time of his death.
