Private Alfred Kerfoot
Description
Private Alfred Kerfoot (4463, 20th Battalion) was born in Newton Heath, Manchester, England and came to Australia at the age of 8 years. Before enlisting, Alfred was working as a news agent. He was killed in action in the trenches near Flers, France on 10 November 1916. Alfred in commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. Alfred's brother Edward wrote that Alfred was aged 16 years at the time of his death.
