Flight Sergeant Allan Squires Millis
Description
Flight Sergeant Millis enlisted to the Royal Australian Air Force on 28 March 1941, and trained as a wireless operator and air gunner in Canada and the United Kingdom. He later joined 12 Squadron, Royal Air Force. On the night of 6-7 September 1942, he was part of a bombing operation targeting Duisberg, Germany. However, his aircraft was caught in a flying battle, and did not return from the operation. Flight Sergeant Millis was proclaimed missing, and later confirmed to have died on 7 September 1942. He is buried at Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.
