Bandsman Charles Desmond Tyler
Description
Bandsman Charles Desmond Tyler enlisted to the Royal Australian Navy on 30 November 1938. He served on the HMAS Sydney (II) in the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. On 20 November 1941, Bandsman Tyler was killed in action, alongside all other crewmembers of HMAS Sydney (II), when the ship engaged in a naval battle with the German cruiser Kormoran and sank off the coast of Western Australia.
