Private Clifford Graham Fairfax
Description
Private Clifford Graham Fairfax (6320, 20th Battalion) was born in North Sydney, NSW. He was working as a clerk when he enlisted in July 1916. Clifford was killed in action at Zonnebeke, Belgium, during the Battle of Passchendaele on 8 October 1917, only two months after joining his battalion. He is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He was 17 years old. Clifford's brother, Pilot Officer Allan Graham Fairfax, was killed while serving with the Royal Australian Air Force in the Second World War.
