Description

Staff Sergeant Charles Thompson “Charlie” Sellers enlisted to the Second Australian Imperial Force on 22 May 1940. He served with 2/6 Field Company in the Middle East and the Netherlands East Indies. In March 1942, Staff Sergeant Sellers was captured as a prisoner of war by the Japanese on Java. As a prisoner, he worked on the Burma-Thai Railway and suffered numerous bouts of illness. On 28 January 1945, Staff Sergeant Sellers died of illness in Thailand. He is buried at Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Thailand.
