Private Raymond George Hind
Description
Private Raymond George Hind (2655, 18th Battalion) was born in Waterloo, NSW in June 1899. He was working as a tanner when he enlisted in August 1915. Raymond was killed by a high explosive shell on 15 November 1916 while on fatigue duty at Flers, France. He is buried in Longueval Road Cemetery, Longueval, France. Raymond was 17 years 5 months of age at the time of his death. Raymond's brother, Bombardier Herbert Heslie Hind, served with 36 Australian Heavy Artillery Group.
