Captain Austin Frank Austin
Description
Captain Austin Frank Austin enlisted with the Second Australian Imperial Force in Paddington, New South Wales on 14 June 1940. Captain Austin initially served with 7 Division Cavalry Regiment in the Middle East until 1 July 1942. He was then transferred into 2/9 Australian Armoured Regiment, completing training and studies in Australia. On 4 April 1945 he was posted to Morotai, Indonesia. Captain Austin Frank Austin was killed in action on 10 May 1945 in Tarakan, Borneo. He is commemorated at Labuan War Cemetery, Labuan, Malaysia.
