Lance Corporal Leslie Hart
Description
Lance/Corporal Leslie Hart (267, 7th Battalion) was born in 1898 at Brunswick, Melbourne and worked as a shop assistant before enlisting in August 1914. He landed at Gallipoli on 25 April and was promoted to lance corporal on 30 April. Only a few days later, while in the front line, he suffered a bullet wound to the head, Leslie died of his wounds on 4 May 1915, aged 17 years. He is buried in Beach Cemetery, Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey.
