Description
A group of officers, of the 37th Battalion, some with EO (Embarkation Officer) on their arm bands, standing or kneeling on the wooden wharf, waiting to board with the battalion for England on the troopship HMAT Persic (A34). Identified left to right: front row: captain; lieutenant; lieutenant with colour patch on left shoulder. Back row: possibly captain; possibly general; possibly Brigadier General; Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Frederick George Woods, a Barrister and Solicitor from Hawthorn, Vic, the Commanding Officer of 37th Battalion, with newspaper in his hand; captain and lieutenant wearing Sam Browne belts.
