Sfakia
Description
Sfakia is a small town on the south coast of Crete and was the site of the evacuation of British Commonwealth forces from the island following the German invasion in May 1941. Between the nights of 28 and 31 May approximately 12,200 troops were evacuated by sea from the small beach at Sfakia.
