Iwakuni
Description
Iwakuni, 32 kilometres south-west of Hiroshima on Japan’s main island of Honshu, was the RAAF’s headquarters for its squadrons in Japan as part of the occupation force. During the Korean War the RAAF’s 91 (Composite) Wing was based at Iwakuni. Durring the Second World War Iwakuni had been a Japanese kamikaze base.
