Flanders

Flanders is the geographic area in eastern Belgium and north-eastern France occupying approximately the historic boundaries of the medieval principality. A densely populated and productive region with important seaports, Flanders was the focus of much of the fighting (and behind-the-lines Army infrastructure) for the northern sector of the Western Front during the First World War.
