Collection relating to the Vietnam War service of Private Peter Frederick Lindwall, First Battalion Royal Australian Regiment, Australia, 1987.

Wallet 1 of 1 - collection consists of a manuscript 'Vietnam First Time 1 RAR 1965-66' written by Private Lindwall in 1987 covering the period of Private Lindwall's first tour of Vietnam from November 1964 until his return to Australia in June 1966. The memoir is dedicated to his sons. It includes detailed account of patrols with 1RAR and camp life in Vietnam. His accounts of the deaths of Michael 'Stony' Alwyn Bourke, William 'Bill' Thomas Carroll, and Arie Van Valen are included. The memoir also mentions the names of wounded soldiers, an Yvonne Barrett concert, the weather, Cu Chi tunnels, and military equipment and uniforms.
