He describes shipboard life on the convoy to Alexandria, local conditions, food, military training and duties, the Wassir Riot, the move to the Dardanelles, receipt of mail, the Gallipoli Landing, the routine, the armistice to bury the dead, the sinking of ships, swimming, lack of rest, rations, flies, hospitalisation with dysentery at Heliopolis.
