Description

Souvenir program for a theatrical performance during the First World War. This program is for a season of operas by the Royal Carl Rosa Opera Company at the Shaftesbury Theatre between Monday 27 May to Saturday 1 June 1918. The operas performed during this season were sung in English and included 'Faust', 'Cavalleria Rusticana', 'Pagliacci', 'La Boheme', 'The Tales of Hoffmann', 'The Marriage of Figaro', 'Mignon', 'Don Giovanni' and 'Maritana'. The program has been signed by Edward White Moncrieff of the 45th Infantry Battalion, Australian Imperial Force.
