Volunteered For Active Service, Medically Unfit badge
Description
Circular silver plated badge issued to men who had volunteered for active service outside Australia but had been certified medically unfit for such service. Badge obverse shows an Australian coat of arms in the centre with the words 'VOLUNTEERED FOR ACTIVE SERVICE UNFIT/ ISSUED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE' around the edge. Reverse bears impressed serial number '17689'.
