Description
Rising Sun hat badge with King's crown beneath the rising sun shape. The scroll beneath the crown reads: 'AUSTRALIAN MILITARY FORCES'. There are two lugs soldered to the reverse. The maker's mark, 'STOKES MELB' is on the reverse, underneath the crown.
History / Summary
1949 - 1954 pattern General Service 'Rising Sun' hat badge. This design was approved in 1949. The wording on the scroll changed from 'AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH MILITARY FORCES' to 'AUSTRALIAN MILITARY FORCES'.
