Wall banner : Royal Australian Air Force Task Group 633.2
Printed synthetic wall banner for Royal Australian Air Force Task Group 633.2 with nylon tapes at each corner of the hoist. The banner is contained within a brown border and shows the Australian flag in brown, white and beige. A red back spider is superimposed over the flag. At the bottom of the banner, enclosed in a brown border is printed in black 'TG633.2 MEAO'. A makers label is sewn to the reverse of the hoist.
Royal Australian Air Force Task Group 633.2 is a part of the electronic signals intelligence (ELINT) element to Operations Catalyst and Slipper. The group has two AP-3C Orion aircraft and crew flying operations in the Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO). The crews are rotated on a six monthly basis. The ground element which includes operations, maintenance, airfield defence and logistics assists in keeping the Task Group secure and producing a high level of operational intelligence and area security. The red back spider is the Task Group's mascot as the spider is small, but packs a punch, much like TG 633.2.
