Description
Mosin Nagant M1891/30 Sniper Rifle. Bolt action receiver marked with a State Arsenal mark, 1944 and the serial number on the barrel. This rifle is fitted with a detachable side mount 3.5 power PU telescopic sight, serial number 4329612. It has a one piece wooden stock and a canvas sling attached by two leather straps.
History / Summary
The Mosin Nagant sniper rifle was first issued in the late 1930's and they were used extensively during the Second World War. The rifles were also distributed as Soviet military aid post war and encountered by Australian troops in Korea and Vietnam.
