Description
The 'Test' match for the 'Korean Ashes', an annual game staged between British and Australian forces serving in Korea, took place over the week end of 15 - 16 October 1955. Pictured getting in a spot of practice before the big game is the wicket keeper for the Australian side, 27429 Corporal (Cpl) Harold William Brown, of Campsie, NSW. England and Australia have each had a victory in the two 'Tests' played since the end of the Korean War, so both sides are determined to win this one. Cpl Brown, who is serving with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), is the only member of last year's victorious Australian team still in Korea.
