Oerbke. Group portrait of Australian and New Zealand airmen inside one of the prison huts at Stalag 357 prisoner of war (POW) camp. Stalags 357 and XIb (at nearby Fallingbostel), when liberated by units of the 2nd British Army, were found to be virtually Anzac prison camps. Many AIF men (some taken prisoner in Crete) and Australian and New Zealand Air Force men were freed.
