Media Registrations Open for 2016 Anzac Day Services at the Australian War Memorial

1 min read

Registrations are open for media seeking to attend 2016 Anzac Day services at the Australian War Memorial.

This year marks 100 years since the arrival of Australian troops on the Western Front, where they were involved in some of the fiercest fighting of the First World War. Ultimately, more Australians would lose their lives on the Western Front than any other theatre of war.

Anzac Day is the day we remember them and every Australian who served or died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The Australian War Memorial will again be the focus of national commemorative activities with the Dawn Service; the National Ceremony and a Last Post Ceremony in the evening.

This ceremony features a commemorative service and a veterans’ march. The ceremony is planned to conclude with a fly past of aircraft.

A selection of high-resolution images, online resources, and biographical databases are available through the Memorial’s media centre. Email webmaster@awm.gov.au before Anzac Day to obtain a password. If you require additional images, please search our collection and email media@awm.gov.au with the image ID number. (Please note: maximum of six images permitted.)
