Memorial receives F/A-18 Classic Hornet into National Collection

The first of two F/A-18 Classic Hornet aircraft to be handed over to the Australian War Memorial has arrived at the Treloar Technology Centre.

A21-022 was transported by road from RAAF Base Williamtown and arrived at the Memorial’s storage facility in Mitchell in the early hours of 27 October.

The aircraft has been partially disassembled for transport and will be reassembled by Boeing Defence Australia over the coming weeks.

No decisions have been made about the future display of the aircraft.
