Dr Duncan Beard

Duncan is an editor based in the Military History Section. Having completed a doctorate in English literature, Duncan began a career in publishing, helping establish Pandanus Books and then ANU Press. In the process he was involved in editing, production, design, distribution, copyright and contract management, and published more books, journals, magazines, catalogues, festschrifts, atlases, and ebooks than he cares to remember. Having departed academia to work as a freelance editor and publisher, he joined the Military History Section of the Australian War Memorial in 2016.
