Soldier relation: 2291 Private (Pte) Marcus Blake Norman Brown, Great Uncle. Pte Brown died of gunshot wounds in Rouen, France, on 11 June 1917.

Brendan Brown aged 53 better known as Buck and currently employed on Cape Barren Island as a worker on various building projects. His background is as an Aboriginal Ranger and Cultural Heritage officer with the Department of Cultural Heritage in Tasmania. Buck has worked for many many years in this position who teamed up with Terry Maynard is this same position. They became a formidable team with an excellent reputation for their traditional knowledge and have become highly regarded in our Tasmanian community as well as the government. Buck still today does consultancy work for the various government departments. The Brown family received the Memorial Death Plaque of their great Uncle Marcus, something they hold with great pride today.
