Portrait of 419481 Flight Sgt (Flt Sgt) Leonard Haig Porritt, RAAF, 467 Squadron RAF. Flt Sergeant Porritt of Beechworth, Vic, enlisted on 14 August 1942 and was killed in action over France on 8 July 1944, aged 24 years. There were no survivors from the crew of the Lancaster aircraft LM338 which also included: 418012 Pilot Officer (PO) Philip Wyatt Ryan, RAAF; 1591247 Sergeant George Arthur Hays, RAF; 415032 Warrant Officer (WO) Clifford Cecil Jones, RAAF; 425605 Flt Sgt Verne Edward Cockroft, RAAF; 408443 Flt Sgt William Deldon Douglas Killworth, RAAF; 429643 Flt Sgt James Pat Steffan, RAAF.
