Description

Original grave of 843 Battery Sergeant Major (BSM) Norman Griffiths Ellsworth, 102nd Howitzer Battery, of Creswick, Vic. A civil servant prior to enlisting in South Yarra, Vic on 19 August 1914, BSM Ellsworth embarked from Melbourne, Vic, aboard HMAT Shropshire on 20 October 1914. He died of wounds received at Dickebusch on 31 July 1917, aged 31, and is buried in The Huts Cemetery, near Ypres, Belgium.
