Description

Yellow poly-cotton bush hat with adjustable chin strap and plastic lining. The front of the hat has a screen printed circle containing a map of Bougainville with a white dove superimposed upon it. The words 'PEACE' and 'PEACE MONITORING GROUP' are printed in black around the circle. A maker's label is sewn into the back of the brim.

History / Summary

Worn by 2810685 Captain Julian Henley Holder. Between 1999 and 2001 Holder completed five two month rotations with the Peace Monitoring Group on Bougainville serving with 171 Operational Support Squadron, 1 Aviation Regiment. This unit provided a detachment headquarters and a troop of four Iroquois UH-IH helicopters in support of the PMG until 2001.
