Never was so much owed by so many to so few...
Description
"Never was so much owed by so many to so few" was part of a wartime speech made by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill on 20 August 1940.
This poster was a made as a tribute to the fighter pilots of the Battle of Britain, however the men pictured are actually bomber crew. The pilots were, from left to right, Sgt 'Dinty' Moore, Sgt Peter Elliot, Sgt Rawles, Sgt Harold Stone (DFM) and Sgt James Craig. By featuring bomber crew, the poster shares the victory of 1940 as by the efforts and sacrifices of the Royal Air Force as a whole.
